Agent InsiderEvents NEST hosts inaugural Stars Retreat in Mexico
The Network of Entrepreneurs Selling Travel (NEST) last month held the inaugural NEST Stars Retreat to help elevate its most promising agencies to top-tier status. The event provided best practices, networking and motivation for 25 owners of on-the-rise agencies.
The intimate event celebrated the agencies’ achievements and facilitated connections in a relaxed setting. NEST Stars Retreat took place September 16-19 at Secrets Moxché in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The agenda balanced inspirational speakers in formal sessions with informal bonding during leisure pursuits (among them: painting and spa sessions).
The retreat offered an opportunity for advisors to spend quality time with NEST executives, select partners and peers in NEST’s entrepreneurial community. From these sessions and networking, agencies discovered how they could take advantage of sales trends and network programs, make their businesses more efficient, market more strategically and maximize commissions and profit share.
NEST reports that the event was so successful, another Stars Retreat will be held in 2026.
Beyond the event NEST—which touts itself as “the country’s first and only network for independent, home-based agencies”—has expanded significantly over the last couple of years as more travel businesses move home. In 2025 alone, NEST added 60 agencies that brought with them $170.7 million in preferred partner sales. This year’s growth has surpassed even 2024’s fast rate of expansion, which saw the network accept 60 agencies with $152 million in preferred sales.
